ETP
Electrolytic Tin Plate (ETP/TP), with good corrosion resistance, strength and hardness, is good in forming and welding. The tin layer is non-toxic and tasteless, can prevent iron from being dissolved into the packaged object, and the surface is bright, and the printed picture can beautify the product.
TFS
Electrolytic Tin Free Steel (TFS), also known as Electrolytic Chromium Coated Steel (ECCS), is a type of steel that is coated with a thin layer of chromium and chromium oxide through an electrolytic process. This coating provides the steel with excellent corrosion resistance, a superior surface finish, and good paint adhesion properties
TMBP
Tin Mill Black Plate (TMBP/BP) is an uncoated, thin, and cold-rolled steel sheet that serves as a substrate for tinplate and tin-free steel production. It is made from low-carbon steel and is characterized by its smooth surface finish, uniform thickness, and good mechanical properties.
Lacquered & Printed Tinplate
Lacquered & Printed tinplate and Tin-Free Steel sheets are low carbon coated steel or printed with polymer coatings and inks respectively. Those materials are commonly used for metal cans and components, both for food (sanitary) and industrial applications.
Easy Open End
The Canned Food Easy Open End (EOE) made from tinplate is a key component in the packaging industry, particularly for food products. Tinplate, known for its excellent corrosion resistance and formability, ensures that the easy-open end provides a reliable seal to maintain the freshness and safety of the canned contents.
Bottom End
The Bottom End made from tinplate is a crucial component in the canning and packaging industry. Known for its durability, excellent corrosion resistance, and formability, tinplate is the preferred material for producing bottom ends that provide a secure and reliable seal for canned goods.
Peel Off End
The Peel Off End made from tinplate is a specialized lid designed for easy and convenient access to canned products. This type of end is typically composed of a tinplate ring with a thin, peelable aluminum or laminated foil layer that seals the container.
Twist-off Cap
The Twist-Off Cap made from tinplate is a widely used closure for jars and bottles, particularly in the food and beverage industry. This cap is designed to be easily screwed on and off by hand, providing a convenient and reliable seal.
Aerosol Cap
The Aerosol Cap made from tinplate is an essential component of aerosol cans, which are widely used for dispensing products in the form of sprays, foams, or mists. This cap is designed to fit securely over the can’s nozzle, providing protection and ensuring the safety of the product during storage and transport.

Highsen Packaging Official News
As the global metal packaging industry continues to evolve, the tinplate coil market is experiencing notable shifts in supply, cost structure, and downstream demand. As one of Highsen Packaging’s core raw materials, these market dynamics directly influence our product strategy and supply chain planning. Below is our latest analysis of the tinplate coil market and the emerging opportunities ahead.
Production Status
Industry data shows that tinplate production is gradually stabilizing. Some mills have resumed operations after maintenance, while new capacities are slowly being released. The overall output is expected to grow steadily in 2025.
Inventory and Profitability
Although supply has improved slightly, many mills continue to experience narrower profit margins due to fluctuations in raw material costs—particularly steel substrates and tin ingots. High tin prices remain a major factor driving production costs upward.
The cost of tinplate coils is predominantly shaped by:
Steel substrate prices – Hot-rolled base steel represents a major portion of total production cost.
Tin ingot prices – Tin remains highly volatile, causing significant cost uncertainty for tinplate producers.
Environmental & technical investments – As the industry shifts toward greener and higher-performance materials, manufacturers are increasing investments in coating improvements, surface treatment, and energy-efficient processes.
Tinplate coils are primarily used in:
Food cans
Beverage packaging
Chemical containers
General metal packaging
While the food can industry remains resilient, some sectors—such as beverages—are experiencing fluctuations. On the global scale, demand for recyclable metal packaging continues to grow, reinforcing tinplate’s position as an environmentally friendly material.

4. Market Trends & Opportunities
Lightweight, recyclable, and low-emission packaging solutions will continue to gain traction in the global marketplace.
Advances in tin-coating processes, surface uniformity, and production efficiency are expected to enhance product performance and reduce costs.
The Asia-Pacific region—especially China—remains the largest production and consumption center. Meanwhile, international demand for metal packaging is expected to grow steadily in Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
Manufacturers and trading companies that effectively manage material volatility (steel & tin) will gain stronger competitive advantages.
To address the evolving tinplate market, Highsen Packaging is taking the following actions:
Strengthening upstream partnerships to secure stable and competitive tinplate coil supply
Expanding customized solutions including various coatings, hardness levels, and thickness options
Enhancing quality control and delivery capability to ensure fast response and reliable shipment
Promoting sustainability, offering environmentally friendly and recyclable packaging-grade tinplate materials
The tinplate coil market is entering a stage of structural adjustment, marked by cost volatility, technological transformation, and rising environmental standards. For Highsen Packaging, this shift represents both a challenge and a strong opportunity. We will continue to focus on innovation, customization, sustainability, and supply stability, providing high-quality tinplate materials to customers worldwide.
